16 July 2019 - Diet Diary - Unexpected lunch plans today. Got a call to help at the sr. center, dispatching transport so director (who usually does this) could cook as cook is ill. Did some other chores, set tables, got drinks ready and served, took trays out to those who can't get to the pick up window on their own. After, helped with cleanup, all together 3 hours worth.
Got dinner as a perk and having not eaten anything before going in, accepted it. Not huge servings but not "low cal" foods, mac & cheese, smokies in bbq sauce, green beans and peaches (juice pack) Everything prepared is pretty much ready to go, they don't really "cook" per se, just put frozen or canned stuff in pans and cook as needed. Occasional fresh fruit they do cut up to serve.
This made figuring calories for these things a bit complicated, closest thing I could find on mac & cheese was canned, 1 serving of 244gr. Well, it is a bit hard to guess what 244gr of macaroni looks like. I ended up just claiming a serving, figuring they seem to have guidelines on how much of things to put on each tray. Anyway, got it counted and figured lunch cost close to 600 of my day's allowance.
So, ate light, yogurt & cottage cheese, before water aerobics then a chicken thigh (roasted, no skin) half a hot dog bun, less than a tsp of lite mayo and 3 sweet pickle slices after getting home. "Dessert" was some cantaloupe. All pushed back my IF schedule by about 30 minutes since water a is over at 8pm. Did give in and indulge in about 1/5 oz of peanuts when I sent the dog out. Came out just under 1000 for the day. Pretty good, unless it turns out my calculations on the mac & cheese were way off. I'll see what the morning brings. Was gone before my normal weigh in time today.
You pointed out why I stopped counting calories and just watch portion size, time I eat, weight, and the hunger factor.
I also find it important to "sweat" every day...whether by exposure to hot weather, or a hard workout. Preferably both.
It's easier to measure those....
I reached 144 yesterday, back up a half pound to 145.2 today....
bike ride coming up..followed by a nice late lunch of chicken and veggies - including the last carrots from my winter garden!
...and for dessert....one of my sister's brownies...one per day until they're gone....early evening so I'm hungry by bedtime...
I'm promising! (to myself, really!)
Posted by OldMetalHeadI hit a new weight milestone this week. Still trying for the six-pack.
Posted by OldMetalHeadThe hardest part for me is not falling back into old bad habits after meeting goals.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.
Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
