That is not what the grieving family want to hear no matter how true this may be.
Jolanta replies on Feb 4, 2020:
@Vpatel I don't think people necessary want to hear that the departed is now in heaven. They want to hear that the departed no longer is in pain, they want to hear how sad it is that the departed is no longer with them, they want to hear how great the person was, no matter if that is true or not, they want to hear how much the person is going to be missed, they want to be reassured that they (the living) will be all right without the departed. Or they do not want to grieve at all because they did not like or could not stand the departed and now are glad that he/she is gone and are curious who els thinks the same without giving themselves away.

I take it coming this close to your house is unusual?
Jolanta replies on Jan 19, 2020:
No , I live on a mountain and they live there. Canberra is a “ bush” capital so we have a lot of them here unlike Sydney or Melbourne. Thi sis of course not in the city centre, far too many buildings.

Are they suggesting people put anything out for them? I would think water would be helpful if you can spare it. They must all be confused as heck with all the displacement going on. They are right there aren't they? We only ever see things like deer that up close to our homes. Okay and ...

There is nothing to eat for them because of the fires, the drought and the Government letting big businesses steal water for bottling

What book?
Jolanta replies on Jan 19, 2020:
The Chroncler of the Wind by Henning Mankell, he is a Swedish writer who writes the famous Wallander crime novels, but this was not a crime novel but a fable. Something like what Isabella Allende writes.

Are you getting your welcome rain ?
Jolanta replies on Jan 19, 2020:
We had 1/2 hours of rain on Friday and last night it rained for 3/4 of an hour. Unfortunately in some places they have flooding and some had thunderstorms that started new fires. But I loved the sound of the rain last night on my roof.

Very cute. Are Kangaroos protected in Australia. That is what we call it in the US when the government makes a law where we are not allowed to trap certain animals or kill them. Bears and snakes are protected in the state of Tennessee.
Jolanta replies on Jan 19, 2020:
@Larry68Feminist No, we don't have those here. Guns are not allowed by private people like they are in the US. There are gun clubs but they are very strictly regulated. Some farmers have guns, but they too are strictly regulated. Some criminals have guns but on a very small scale.

No, it was just raining for 1/2 hour where I am. Other places had a lot of rain and thunderstorms. Unfortunately those thunderstorms started new fires. We are expecting some rain today and tomorrow perhaps.
What do you see as being the best approaches to normalizing agnostism, atheism etc?
Jolanta comments on Jan 18, 2020:
I think this mostly has to do with the US, the rest of the western world do not give one fig about your religious beliefs.
Jolanta replies on Jan 18, 2020:
@DavidLaDeau Not necessary religions but fanatic people in religions. It is usually cultural stuff that is the problem.

Jolanta replies on Jan 18, 2020:
@becire Yes, I was in the Phillipines a year ago and was having a conversation with a Catholic priest and a pastor from an independent church. They both asked me about my religious beliefs. When I told them I was an agnostic, they said they had not heard about which church agnostics belonged to. I said look it up on google it will tell you. I was laughing so on the inside that I could barely keep my face straight. I am going to go to the Phillipines this year and will very likely see those two again, I wonder if they have looked it up and remember. I cannot wait to have another discussion with them.

Jolanta comments on Jan 13, 2020:
That is complete nonsense about Judaism. Very religious Jewish women are only looked at as baby makers, they have many laws, women are not allowed to show their hair, thus wear wigs, the man is the boss, education is not allowed either.
Jolanta replies on Jan 14, 2020:
@Mofo1953 As you can see I am talking about orthodox Jewish women. They don’t serve in the army.
