The cost of honesty

What a lot of nonsense. In any group of people there is always going to be divisions, that doesn't meant that I feel betrayed by someone els opinions or am angry about it. Grow up I say to those who think that ones friends or family is going to think and feel the same.

Today is the first day of the year and my last day of vacation..... .what a conundrum........
Jolanta comments on Jan 5, 2020:
So you don't like your job?
Jolanta replies on Jan 6, 2020:
@IamNobody Yes, I can understand it. I am getting a bit emotionally tired of going to work. I do like my job but I do like not having to think about going there.
To what extent do you let reason or logic make your decisions for you?
HerbertNewsam comments on Jan 5, 2020:
I tend to over think it some at times, but i like living in reality, i think reality dictates the use of logic and reason. My emotions can be all over the place so i like to let them chill for abit at times. Usually because of one of my ptsd issues, which are usually triggered by perceived or not ...

Dreams.. are they real just because we experience them when we sleep?
Marionville comments on Jan 2, 2020:

Jolanta replies on Jan 5, 2020:
@Marionville I do have pen and paper by my bedside but you know how it is. One never thinks of doing it. All I usually think of when I wake up is what shall I have for breakfast today.
If you not already have seen Japanese Manga "Spirted Away" I highly recommend it.
brentan comments on Jan 3, 2020:
Yes indeed. I love that film!

@brentan Mine too.

LiterateHiker comments on Jan 4, 2020:
With an analytical mind, I don't let my emotions dictate my actions. As a parent, I'm the calm one. Don't have a temper. Like my mother, I'm an excellent problem-solver. **Saving My Little Brother When He Fell Through the Ice** When my brother, Lee, 9, fell through the ice while ice ...
Jolanta replies on Jan 5, 2020:
I fell thru the ice when I was 5. My mother had sent me on an errant to pick something up for her and on the way back I decided to take a short cut. Well I fell into the river but it was not vey deep, only to my tummy. I screamed so much that people came running, someone dragged me out and took me home I was so frighten that my mother was going to punish me but this time she did not. When I think back on it I can still feel the cold on my body.

LiterateHiker comments on Jan 4, 2020:
Common sense definition: **Sound and prudent judgment** based on a simple perception of the situation or facts. Of course common sense exists.

Religion in the workplace
Jolanta comments on Jan 3, 2020:
Look for anther job and when you get one, complain about the religious restrains that are there and point out that is why you are leaving.
Jolanta replies on Jan 3, 2020:
@TimeOutForMe Of course you don't say anything until after you got your reference that goes without saying.
I'm sure many people on here have religious friends and family members that get on your nerves.
Jolanta comments on Jan 2, 2020:
I have got family and friends that are not religious and they do get on my nerves from time to time, just as I am sure I get on theirs.
Jolanta replies on Jan 3, 2020:
@Allamanda I am not and they are not. People get on each others nerves all the time for various reasons, doesn't have to be religion.
Canberra sky in the middle of the day. Red sky and haze.

Well when people tell you who they are, believe them. If two consenting adults want biting and scratching as part of their sex life, it's none of my business, but I can't figure out a way to regard it as healthy. We're humans, not Klingons.

Maybe he has been watching way too much sci fi.

Sure but this is something that one keeps to oneself and doesn't tell anyone about until you know that person intimately.

Lauren comments on Dec 31, 2019:
I'm sorry. That's so heartbreaking. Do the suburbs have enough sustenance for them?
Jolanta replies on Jan 1, 2020:
@Lauren So far so good, however tomorrow is going to be even hotter and we have been warned about Saturday. There are fires raging around us and the air quality is 2500 times over what it is supposed to be, my eyes are sore, but I am optimistic. In the end it will be okay.
Canberra, Australia.
sweetcharlotte comments on Dec 31, 2019:
Very cute. Are Kangaroos protected in Australia. That is what we call it in the US when the government makes a law where we are not allowed to trap certain animals or kill them. Bears and snakes are protected in the state of Tennessee.
Jolanta replies on Dec 31, 2019:
There are millions of kangaroos in Australia, each state have different laws in relation to them. We have to cull them here in Canberra, they are very dangerous in here. They jump out in front of cars and make a lot of damage, it can be fatal.

Jolanta replies on Dec 31, 2019:
I don't think that there is enough for all of them. These ones live on the hill where I live and are fortunate to find some grass to eat, but all those other animals that are in the bush will perish in the fires that are raging around us.

Jolanta comments on Dec 29, 2019:
I know plenty of University professors who don't know how to boil water or tie their own shoelaces. An IQ test doesn't mean much look who is the president in the US, prime minister in Australia or prime minister in UK. All buffoons. Good at lying, cheating and being generally very bad people.
Jolanta replies on Dec 30, 2019:
@Shawno1972 I agree with you about children out of wedlock, however there would be people religious or not that would find it amoral. I don't have that view.

Jolanta replies on Dec 29, 2019:
@Jacar I do have to disagree with you there about Boris being moral. How many children does he have out of wedlock for instance, and are you aware that he was sacked from his vice-chairman position, which he refused to resign from after publicly lying, and that is not the first time it happened. A moral, reasonable, principled person he is not.

Never take love for granted. Look at all the people who did and now are alone.
St-Sinner comments on Dec 27, 2019:
Think about this: 1. Being alone is not a terrible thing, often it is better to be out than be in for the wrong reasons. 2. There are relationships where love has dried up, there are only bills, the magic is gone 3. Don't assume all relationship are about love 4. Love with the right one is ...
