Does rereading a book count?

I got into a debate with my dad the other day over whether or not rereading a book should count towards my reading goal. I usually set a goal of 100 books, and I was reading the first 5 books of series so I could get to the 6th and 7th book without forgetting anything. It had been years since I'd read the original 5, so in my mind, those counted towards my goal. He insisted they did not. I'm curious to what other book nerds believe.

Do you ask or let them tell?

I have no concrete knowledge, and as a straight woman, my radar likely isn't the most sensitive, but I wonder sometimes if my son may be gay. He's 16 yrs old, and I'm confident he knows I would have no problem accepting him for whatever he may be. He's a lovely human and I would never want him to change. I've had gay friends tell me to remain objectively supportive but not to address it directly. To let him come out in his time, that addressing it before he may be ready could do more harm ...

Am I doomed relationship wise being a minority in a minority?

Coming from a black atheist, who numerous girls have either left me before a relationship could take place or during a relationship when I told them. It seems many black folk are ultra religious and any mention of nothing believing is just crazy.
