I used to volunteer on a hotline. One person got a call from a guy complaining about being arrested for having sex with his daughter. Seemed unfair to him as his father and grandfather had been doing it and it was just part of family tradition. My strangest call that I ever got was from a woman who claimed god had raped her. That was a long, weird call. We used reflective listening skills to get them to understand. I really just wanted to say, "You know, it is scientifically possible to have an orgasm without manual stimulation." In the Navy, a kid with whom I worked, spent his childhood in Sweden where corporal punishment had been outlawed. As embassy staff, his parents didn't have to follow the rules at home; but having Swedish grandparents, they did. He turned out fine with no corporal punishment.

Way less than 70% know the real conflict and how far back it goes. They were a divided country in Soviet days, and sadly, the South was more advanced, especially socially by accepting non Muslims in a primarily Muslim world. Like I said, they even had beer produced there. Americans are told to hate Iranians because they took our embassy and held it for 444 days. But the Sauds, who made up most of the 911 terrorists and financial backed all of them, well, our last president danced the sword dance with them.
