Hard to find a lead on who rubbed out the cartoonist. Pretty pointless to go over the crime scene in the dark. Nothing has been ruled out yet re motives.
@Zealandia Maybe a set type of pen could point things out, without erasing any evidence for the editors.
Cartoonists sketch? I thought that it was scribble.
Have you compared Victorian cartoons with todays?

Yes, the Victorian drawings were very detailed.
I know a cartoonist, he studied at a fine arts college locally. He did a side gig drawing pictures of aircraft for a book, they were very accurate renditions and nice to look at. In stark contrast to his cartoons, which are quite sparse and slightly messy. Very talented person.
