Why do you think trees grow branches and leaves? Rivers grind boulders into rocks and moss grows on still rocks?

Here in the bush late 1800's bibles and voluminous works of poetry were often carried in the back pocket in case you couldn't find leaf, stone or stick. Even today a knowledgeable bushman will not stir his billy of tea with a stick picked up off the ground. It has to be broken off the tree from above head height.
@FrayedBear 1860's or so. Indoor plumbing was only for the large cities so every body had an outhouse and every outhouse had a catalog. Rural people did a lot of things through mail order and sears was the amazon of it's time. You read the page then tore it off and used it.
@EricJones Mail order didn't go over too well here.
