During the 50's I saw gas as low as $0.17 a gallon. In an AARP article they compared prices from the mid 70's to the present given inflation, and gasoline was about where it should be, along with bread, milk, etc. Houses and cars are way out of whack, and I mean WAY out of whack. Given the necessity of both, no wonder the average household is one major problem away from financial ruin.
