What has happened to police officers in our country?
LenHazell53 replies on Jul 11, 2020:
The Police union is so strong that officers believe themselves to be untouchable (no pun intended) and free do do as they please. Consequently the people applying to become police officers are the scum who have been clever enough not to have been arrested for doing the things that being a police man or woman will allow them to do with impunity. It is well know that child molesters seek jobs in schools and churches for the same reason, now it seems thugs and bullies become cops.

It was co-opted in to German as Kapputt as a slang word for a loser because it sound like spitting to the german ear in the 17th century and then during the the wars from the Napoleonic onward into English as a cry of victory against Prussians, French and Germans as Kaput "Du ist Kaput" to signal impending victory. Over time it has simple widened its meaning to anything broken or no longer working correctly.

Sorry but flammable and inflammable do not mean the same thing. Flammable substances such as paper will spontaneously burst into flame if the temperature reaches a certain point (451 degrees fahrenheit, 233 °Centigrade for paper) Inflammable substances require the presence of fire in order to burst into flame themselves. Basically flammable substances are far more dangerous to transport without refrigeration.

Margaret Hilda Roberts was revealed after her death to be the illegitimate granddaughter of Barron Cust Lord Brownlow as confirmed by his sister Lady Diana Cooper who acknowledged Margaret as her niece for her whole life. Once this was achieved and Mrs Thatcher became Baroness Thatcher of Kesteven she retired Triumphant having left the death and destruction of countless in her political wake.

@davknight True after a fashion, but Hitler was still no atheist or agnostic, he was a member of the Thule society and in later years a Rosicrucian, while never giving up his catholicism and tellingly never being excommunicated, Pope Pius XII in fact proclaimed Adolf as a hero of the church and made Hitler's Birthday a Roman Catholic Holiday. Himmler was an occultist, Goebbels was a Catholic and wrote voluminously on religious philosophy, Hermann Göring was a convert to Protestantism from the RC, Adolf Eichmann was a Calvinist, I could go on but I stand by my contention National Socialism in German in the early twentieth (unlike communism) was not and did not require its membership to embrace or profess Atheism and was pretty much open to all, bigots and bastards.

"Germany's Nazis of the 1930s considered themselves to be atheist, or agnostic." Who the fuck told you that fairy tale? Hitler was a practicing Roman catholic, Nazi germany had a concordant pact with the Vatican and churches thrived under the Nazi regime with many Bishops and arch bishops being party members who refused to speak out against the holocaust. No doubt some SOME atheist, or agnostic were also Nazis, why not even some Jews joined the party they even had their own special regiment (https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1996-12-24-mn-12209-story.html) so there is no end to human stupidity. But a political force that were obliged to wear belt buckles reading "Gott mit uns" surrounding a swastika were not an atheist organisation.

LenHazell53 replies on Jun 23, 2020:
@Rodatheist fair enough, simply a disagreement over the definition of rational behaviour. You seem to take the view that morality impacts on the definition of rational and that an immoral person cannot be considered rational, this seems to be confusing rationality with sanity. An insane person can still follow a perfectly rational course of action based on selfish motives rather than altruistic ones, an evil act can be perfectly rational while being completely immoral.

@aintmisbehaven No, the fly was real and could be perceived as such because of common experience, it could have been photographed, left microbes on you arm, may have been witnessed, and the event could if necessary be replicated and demonstrated. Also a fly is a thing that is known to exist by evidence, your arm is the same and there would be little reason to suspect you were mistaken about a common place event such as that described. It is a simple claim with a high probability of truth, and so is barely requiring of evidence and can be taken largely to be be without consequence in the larger scheme of things. If you had claimed alternately a small dragon landed on you and that you removed it by psychokinesis, that would be a unique and extraordinary claim, requiring extraordinary evidence because the consequences of it being true would be far reaching and of great importance. Because neither dragons nor psychic powers are known to be real. Likewise claims of supernatural or spiritual occurrence require prior proof of the reality of the participatory phenomena, before the event itself can be considered and its actuality confirmed.

Bunk! Being "moral" is an ideal that we strive for and morality is defined by the societal structure you live in. Your view seems to say we are all hypocrites because no one can be moral or ideal. That view would have to always produce failure.
LenHazell53 replies on Jun 22, 2020:
True and correct, that is exactly why western society is collapsing and consuming itself. Our society has been based on a social moral bankruptcy since the 1980s and has now become the norm. Everyone takes offense at everything and calls it necessary freedom of expression, while at the same time using oppressive methods to silence detractors and claiming censorship is also a necessary freedom. It is normal to place feelings over fact and so praising as brave and heroic the acts of the glutton and condemning his doctor for trying to save that same glutton's life for "fat shaming" Racism is condemned while racists are lauded for being champions of free speech and at the same time racists are condemned while racism is lauded as essential to national security. The police are given tanks and guns that could stop an elephant and then are condemned for using them, but when unrest happens and the police show restraint they are condemned for not behaving like a paramilitary. The man who calls his obese friend fat is an abuser, but the man who calls his obese friend thin is an enabler. Support an -ism and and you are a cuck, complain that an -ism goes to far in the other direction and you are a despicable ist-o-phobe. Even be neutral on any subject and you are a part of the "problem" Our society today worships hypocrisy, it thrives on word play and raising up up one section of society against another, with each opposing view having its 15 minutes of fame in the spotlight to be both praised and vilified, so that while children starve and people die of war and disease the public can safely ignore all of that while they decide which oppressed minority's loudest vocal whinging hypocrites are going to feature on the nightly sob story game show we call the news in a bid for attention and victim culture fame and fortune. This is why we are as you say doomed "to always produce failure."

@MarkWD The only definition of spirit, that I know of, that does not connote the supernatural is when it is used as a euphemism for alcohol. God linguistically too by definition includes a supernatural connotation. Since there is zero evidence for the supernatural, which itself by definition of the word is a logical impossibility I think my point stands.

@LiterateHiker Despite what has been claimed elsewhere on this thread you are factually correct on all counts Baden Powell met with Hitler to discuss the foundation of the Hitler youth and gave it his blessing, that is a fact backed up in Baden-Powell's own journals, as is the fact he described Mein Kampf in the same journal as "A wonderful book" Baden Powell did order the execution of the Matabele chief Uwini in 1896 by firing squad and was court martialed for it. He was acquitted on the grounds that since Uwini had already been shot by one of LBP's own men and was dieing, British Justice would not be seen to be done at HQ where despite promises to the contrary the Chief was going to be tried found guilty and executed anyway. Baden Powell therefore convened a Drum Head Court Martial found the chief guilty and had him shot...again, only this time officially. Baden-Powell later claimed he was "released without a stain on my character" (Baden-Powell, Robert. "Lessons from the 'Varsity of Life". p. 90.) and was actually commended for quick thinking in keeping everything official. I agree that disgusting avuncular statue of the old git needs to go.

At the moment in the UK there is a loud minority who despise everything Imperial. I can go more deeply into this later. It is good and healthy to question the past, but to blanket eliminate it is no different to what ISIS were doing.
LenHazell53 replies on Jun 20, 2020:
I believe no one wishes to blanket over it, or forget it, but most of us these days want an end to the "Glorious" mythology of the illustrious British Empire, the fibs told about how the "colonies" welcome English civilisation with open and grateful arms and finally and most of all we want an end to the filthy disgusting LIES about how the empire was NOT actually financed by sugar and slaves and those who traded in both at an enormous cost to life, liberty, human dignity and a culture based on the falsehood of racial superiority. In short it is time for truth to be told. We may not be able to be held accountable for the grievous misdeeds of our ancestors, but we can and we will STOP Deifying and celebrating them as heroes and paragons of virtue, when they were monsters of arrogance, callousness and cruelty.

LenHazell53 replies on Jun 20, 2020:
@Jolanta The Scouts originated in the UK and were very much tied to the C of E who financed them. Church patrol on a Sunday was mandatory, and it was this more than anything that lead to the Catholic Church forming the "Boys Brigade" so that good little catholics did not have to go to Anglican churches. Prayer was mandatory in every meeting up until the 1980's and the Boy Scout oath contained a swearing of Allegiance to "God and the Queen". It was and to a lesser extent still is a religious organisation.

@Triphid And old Baden Powell would have hated it. In fact when girls were admitted to the UK Scouts, it was one of the major arguments against allowing the change. LBP is on record as saying girls must never be allowed in the scouts as it would lead boys astray from many pursuits, and instead lead that to the terrible sin of "Self Abuse". It was why he had his "wife" with whom he had a famously and celebrated Celibate marriage set up the girl guide movement, to keep the "fools of women" away from his lads thus ensuring they were too busy whittling at woodcraft, or clasped in prayer to have there hands stray in a southerly direction .
