I wrote a computer game that I wanted to start up randomly, but the system always started with the same number booting up. My solution was to take a number from the jiffy clock and put that in the random number generator when the game booted.

Yes, but... I recall research done on modernizing countries that showed the populace turned to conservatism as a rejection of technology. This was before the internet, so it may be harder to bury one's head in the sand. I believe this research received a pejorative award from Senator Proxmire, but it proved all too accurate in essentially predicting the revolution in Iran. In our own case, the US has been much more religious than other Western countries, so it has farther to go. My guess is we're approaching the sharpest slope in the change curve, and that's good. However, the shift could be jarring to many.

Maybe... Complete apart from CO2 and methane is the particulate pollution that comes from sulfur content. These sulfur particulates typically have a carbon coating that absorbs sunlight. When the particles settle on snow or ice, the sunlight converts to heat that melts the ice. I've never seen any discussion of trying to separate the effects of warming from particulates melting glacial ice.

I do not believe the state should be in the business of killing citizens because 1) Way too many innocent people on Death Row; 2) Too easy to pervert for political purposes. On the other hand, some people perform acts of horror that do deserve removal, and allowing certain perpetrators to continue living is an affront to the victim's survivors. Thus, I believe additional protocols should be set up to only accommodate these conditions. Perhaps a friend or relative of the victim should be tasked with throwing the switch. Otherwise, life without parole.

It's cold and a mask keeps you warm. It's a small hassle to be taking it off and putting it back on again if its a short trip. (I'm rationalizing; I take it off unless I'm feeling really lazy. In one of my jobs, we had to wear earplugs, hardhat, Nomex jumpsuit, and sometimes a respirator. You get used to it and aren't always in a big hurry to remove it all.)

The presence of cannabis is a red herring. The intended implication is that the mother and her friend weren't paying attention. One cannot give children 100% attention. It's a reasonable assumption they didn't know about the gun until it was too late. That should put responsibility back on the father for not securing the gun. While cannabis drivers are generally safe, authorities continue to presume that using cannabis is the same as intoxication. Having children in a car while smoking is a bad idea because law enforcement will be hostile to that scene.

Pretty sure my Dad got a copy. He was stationed for a time on Aitutaki during WWII. Some women were bare breasted in those informal days, and not much westernized. He took me back there once, and they had a lot of changes. The lagoon became hazy because of the phosphate detergents. Trump is a profoundly malign actor in our culture on multiple levels. He continues to be a malignant metastasizing cancer on our culture, and an existential threat to our political system. And, his SOP is to delay legal proceedings and has accumulated expertise doing it. Belief can be tolerated as with free speech. However, the free speech of religion quickly becomes hate speech that is then leveraged into political abuse against each minority the religion doesn't like. It is this PERVASIVE abuse that motivate secularists and atheists to reign in religious psychosis wherever possible. I tried a match service. It was pricey, and I tried to get a guarantee added to the contract. They agreed. That should have been a red flag, but hope easily blinds one to such things. This group had a suite in a high rise, furniture, staff, computers, videos, files, the whole nine yards. After a couple of months, I learn the president had lit out with all the deposits, stole the computers, and left the country (for Israel). I'm guessing she made her million-plus. "Helena" Amram had actually pulled a similar scam in New York before setting up in Westwood, CA. Somehow, the police services didn't care to follow-up or offer warnings. And apparently, came back to Florida in 2002 and ran her scam there and got sued. Googling, I found Helena died in early Dec 2020. Her husband said this: “For many years she suffered from lupus, and in recent years added epilepsy, lung cancer and terminal lung disease. She needed oxygen, could not function without it. She also had two fractures in her spine. Countless troubles befell her. Blow after blow. “Monday and Thursday we would take her in an ambulance to the hospital. Each time she had something different. " Few people die easily. I'm glad she wasn't one of them.

We use Determinism and Free Will to describe ourselves, basing such concepts on things we understand. When we look, the answers are confusing and support one model or another. We should accept that neither model is accurate, and that much more nuance is required, and may be beyond our capabilities (How do you model the quantum mechanics of an entire brain?) .
