Honestly, I thought this would be the case after W, and there was some backlash at the national level, but the backlash went the other way at the congressional and senate level 2 years in. Still, I think there is a pendulum pattern to electoral results, and maybe we'll get the best part of it when the pendulum swings left this time. Can't give up hope, got to keep eyes on the prize.

I eked out "c's" in my three calculus courses in college, the only "c's" I ever earned. And they were 4 credit courses too. I stopped short of differential equations. I had only a passing familiarity with the concepts, but I learned how to get computers to run optimizations for me, and that's how I learned APL.

I just re-watched those with my son, who never saw them. A lot of the tropes in subsequent gangster movies and shows started with GF 1 and 2, and they look a little dated since we are accustomed to the derivatives, but they largely hold up quite well.
