@puff It would have been up and running within a year. The Germans wanted to have a sympathetic president like Charles Lindbergh elected and even had plans in place to help him be elected. Pearl Harbor blew that for them and bringing the US into things that early was a huge Strategical error anyway you look at it. Keeping the US out made it far more likely they would win. If the US stayed out another 4 years the entire world speaking German and most people would be slaves.

@puff Oh it would have been successful but temporarily and in the beginning only as a foolhold situation facing constant guerilla warfare While on the mainland a new fleet would be under construction and the submarine fleet would be Japanese convoys I would have given them 2 years at best before the US had them driven back to the Salomon Islands... In any case the mistake was to force the US to enter the war that early before consolidating their hold on the rest of the world military powers...

From a purely military standpoint that attack was an incredibly imbecilic act. If they had pressed on to take the Hawaiian Islands would have ended up even worse for them. We still had bases in San Diego and San Francisco as well as major ports in Washington and Los Angeles areas and a reserve fleet in mothballs. With a fast refit of the mothball fleet there would have been enough to keep the Japanese from reaching the mainland and rebuild the fleet. After that you have to remember that the Japanese didn't really have the resources at that time to have a supply chain that long for any length of time.

She was always an indoor outdoor girl and would wait for me in the morning as I was going to work. One morning I came out and as usual she was waiting for me right by my car but this time she never got up. I was very difficult for me that day but far less difficult if she had just disappeared. I think she knew that and wanted to be sure I would find her.

@Betty My longest lived cat growing up was a Tabby named Tiger who every year climbed up into the tree and just took naps.... She never bothered the tree itself she just loved to hide inside it. She lived a very long and happy life and lived until she was 22 years old.

Actually you only want to keep a very small balance on a credit card at the end of the reporting period. I have two cards with a total 14,000 limit between them and when the lender reports them I have $25 on each. The effective usage shows as zero but if I did pay them to zero the credit reporting agencies show them as closed. I went through this before and lost a lot of credit history then had to fight with Transunion for 3 years to get them to put it back. At present my Equifax is 795, Transunion is 785 and Experian is 777 so I do know what I am talking about.
