Well the only reason I can see for the Chinese to help the Russians is oil and steel which Putin is having problems delivering because everything is in short supply there now from what the analysts are saying. Most of his workforce is either hiding out, leaving the country or already getting shot to hell by Ukrainians. About the only steel he has are all those old Soviet Era tanks that have been rusting since the day they were built and without the labor to cut them up he can't sell the scrap. Also money is in short supply so buying is out of the question as well as him being considered a bad credit risk since he can barely make the payments on his national debt.

@FrayedBear Sorry the Normandy landings were a bloodbath and troops were pulled off the Russian front by the Nazis to repel the expected attack. The only reason it did succeed was the disinformation strategy used by the Allies that led them to believe that Patton would be in charge of the landings in a different p[art of France instead of Normandy and led by Eisenhower himself. Even the date was moved up at the last minute due to weather and was likely the only reason the landings were as successful as they were.

Bad weather and attrition with a crumbling supply line stopped both armies but if the US had not supplied the Russians with arms and material support the Nazis would still have beat them long before the pressure allied troops caused the Nazis to pull back in order to shore up their defensive lines in Europe.
