@Proto l don't look at relationships ending as failure. Things change, people change. As l have never loved a particular type of woman, every relationship was different. Sometimes l wanted out, and sometimes they wanted out. I have never bought into the idea of relationships lasting until one of you dies. If it works out that way, great. @Bierbasstard Never overestimate the musical knowledge of your audience. I hope you get to play. I'm 70 and still love it. In some ways l think l am playing better than ever. I don't have the speed but l think l think better and listen better. To me the most important thing you can do when you are playing is really listen to each other. They just want to hear some music. I have this belief that the audience doesn't always know when they are listening to a band that isn't very good, but they do know when they hear a band that is good.

@Bierbasstard Around Austin you have every age group playing, but a band playing 80's stuff is rare. Even the younger guys tend to go for r&b, blues, and r&b influenced rock. There are bands like us that do a little of everything. My brother writes in different styles. We do r&b, country, rock, reggae, whatever he writes, and we pick our cover stuff to fit us. When we do cover tunes, we do it the way we would do it if we wrote it. We believe it is better to do a good version of the way you would do it opposed to a nearly good or bad version of the original. We do a reggae version of Twist and Shout, and people love it.

@pepperjones That isn't what l meant. In a large city you have a huge dating pool. If you hang out doing things you like you are going to meet people you have things in common with. In my little town you have to wait until someone new moves to town, and when that happens every single male is going to be trying to get to know them.

@Charity Exactly. They feel like they missed something and they are right, they did. They don't have a clue how to romance a mature woman. They can only fall back on their previous experience, which was their 20's. @Charity While paying attention to the women on this site and what they say, this seems to be a common problem, much more than l was aware of. For these men who are single for the first time in 20 or 30 years, they aren't trying to recapture their youth. They are trying to experience something they never had. Someone like me who was single in their 20's and 30's and half of my 40's, l have done all of that. It gives me a much different perspective.

@Charity l agree. When it comes to sex and or romance men can really be insensitive. I have been single half of my adult life, and l have found men whom have been married for 20 or 30 years and find themselves single again tend to act like they did in their 20's when it comes to these matters. It is all they know. I really do feel sorry for women when it comes to this stuff.

My sister and I had a set of these sheets growing up and my mother still has them.

@Charity Pepper is definitely not one of the bashers. We have had a couple of conversations. She is one of my very favorite people on this site. I'm glad you are feeling a little better. Just trust your gut when dealing with people in general. I have found it to be pretty reliable. I understand when in the throws of a divorce one can have that desire to be wanted and appreciated again, and those feelings can sort of scramble things in our brains. But if you trust that inner voice, and l believe women are better at that than men (our dicks to often get in our way), you will be fine. Sorry, didn't mean to ramble.

@Charity l know she was not talking in general. I just like to stop the general male bashing that goes on here before it gets started. The show was great. It was supposed to be a birthday present for his fiancee, but they broke up three weeks ago. Not that the breakup was great. Dwight put on a great show. It was nice to hear a really good country act, not the stuff that has been out there for so long. Country rock was the first stuff l started playing professionally. I love all kinds of music from jazz to rock. I just like good music and this was. I hope you are feeling a little better today.
