If Republicans think that god made trump president - how good is God, seriously?
birdingnut comments on May 10, 2018:
Are you kidding? I'd say they're acting EXACTLY like their Christian god. Religious people say god "loves" them but that same god will torture them in hell forever if they mess up in the slightest in this life. They say to love others as you love yourselves, but to reject anyone who doesn't attend their own denomination, or is a different race, religion, financial status, or sexual orientation. Jesus said that you get into heaven if you give away all your money and follow him. He also said that you had to obey every single law of Moses to get into heaven, but also said that you had be born again, etc. It was all over the map.

All my life I've loved cars, I've bought over 80.
birdingnut comments on May 10, 2018:
I'm a bit dotty over the two-door Chevy Bel Airs; especially the '55 and '57. In 1974, my husband bought a rusted out Chevy Bel Air '55 two-door, and, with the help of a couple of buddies, sanded it down, sprayed on several coats of paint, top coat was royal blue metal fleck, then a protective coating of sheer lacquer. He installed white bucket seats, put in a racing steering wheel, tore out the automatic shift, and installed a four-on-floor, bought extra wide chrome mag wheels, and put on a fiber glass pack muffler, to make a cool sound. We also owned '56 and '59 Bel Airs, but drove them as they were, in original condition. Whenever I drove the '55 in platform shoes, I was in trouble; the new shift pedals were stiff and I'm only 5' 3," so could barely reach them, plus my shoes tended to slip off the brake and shift pedals when trying to hold my own on a steep hill at a stop sign. I learned to turn my foot sideways to do it. I couldn't take off my platform shoes or I couldn't reach the pedals at all. It required athleticism to drive it, since there was no power steering, and that monster was made of solid metal. Still, I was proud as punch whenever I drove it around the Mishawaka, IN area, where I was working at the time, finishing my senior year at Bethel College. Men's heads would snap around whenever they heard me coming and they'd hang out their car windows, almost drooling. They'd honk wildly, yelling, ""GREAT CAR!!" as I passed.

I'm also androgyne, and a partial transmale. I was never interested in getting married, OR having kids, but bowed to parental pressure, back when I was young and religious.

Olive Leaf Extract It contains oleuropein, a strong anti-microbial that has been found in studies to destroy bacteria that causes gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis.
Anna's Dress or Bella's dress
birdingnut comments on May 10, 2018:
I dunno..both dresses are pretty lame..boring white, so tight and long there's no way the bride can dance with her dad afterward. Furthermore, the color and style of wedding dresses means they can only be worn at a wedding, so only ONCE, then must be stored. And the dresses can cost thousands of dollars..all for one hour's wearing. The custom of wearing lace white wedding dresses started with Queen Victoria, in 1840, after which the published photos inspired the people to try to copy her. White was usually worn by the rich, being difficult to buy and maintain, so it was a status symbol. Before that, people wore beautiful colored gowns that one could wear to a ball, and even in America, brides usually wore their best dresses, and black was popular. So I don't get why modern Americans, who are not even British, keep slavishly following such a custom.

They said they also genetically engineered domestic animals and food plants at the Garden of Aiden. I like their versions of the Bible stories better, as they are more scientific. I.e., in the story of Noah, a third of the world was flooded when another planet came too close to the earth and caused an underwater ice shelf to break off. Anu, the Sumerian leader, who is the inspiration for the "Hebrew god" of the Bible, was going to leave the human slaves to drown in the mines, but two of the geneticists helped their favorite human escape drowning by showing him how to make a submarine, and they put animal DNA onboard, not the actual animals. birdingnut comments on May 9, 2018:
Sure, I've read them, but I certainly don't sit around reading them for entertainment. There are far more exciting books to read than that! Last night started "Till We Have Faces," the last novel written by C.S. Lewis-a rewriting of the Psyche myth from the point of view of the ugly older sister, who learns to sword fight, becomes queen when her father dies, and reigns wisely. The premise of the book: her complaints about the unfairness of the gods to accuse her of tricking her younger sister into looking at Cupid in his sleep, and her ultimate realization that we are ALL gods, creating our own collective reality. SO true. I've read it numerous times, but after a while I'll read it again, like I do all my favorite books. I think it's his best one, by far, and I thought so when I was only 21 years old and still religious.

birdingnut comments on May 9, 2018:
I never felt sexy as a woman..ever, being a partial transmale. But, as an androgyne (mixed gender traits), I used to enjoy gender switching roles and mild S&M with my ex (a 6'1" airline pilot and former Navy pilot and engineer), and would wear costumes that pleased him. In return, he'd dress as a male Las Vegas stripper, which he resembled anyway. He bought me a Catwoman outfit replica, so I'd don long, spike heel boots, crack the fake leather leather whip, he'd start the Barry White CD, and I'd play a "dom." He loved it, and even I got into it, because afterward he'd do a strip show for me.

birdingnut comments on May 9, 2018:
At the risk of being attacked by the cis gendered, and those who believe in the religious teaching of the "gender binary" paradigm, I have a strange notion..that maybe seeing women as inferior is a hard-wired male trait, that can take over, if strong women don't keep men in line. I am androgyne, nonbinary, and a partial transmale. I used to be gender fluid, jumping back and forth between my male and female modes without realizing it, and when in one gender mode, I often couldn't remember what I'd done in the other gender mode. I finally realized what was happening when I read my messages to a transwoman friend from high school, while we were talking about gender issues. When I was in "male mode," my attitude was scornful and patronizing toward women, seeing them as silly, but should be humored so as not to "upset" them. At the same time, I found myself catering to women, refusing to argue with them, somehow hard-wired to try to protect them if they were female. When I was in female mode, though, I looked down on men, calling them male chauvenist morons, and knuckle-dragging idiots. I rolled my eyes at them, seeing their worth only in what they could do for me. By the way, if you troll me, I'll just block you.

If they persist, just look indifferent, murmur "Um, hum.." in a distracted manner, and immediately wander out of the room. Do this each time you're attacked and you will soon train people to leave you alone. David Wilcock's bestseller book, "The Ascension Mysteries," explains what has been happening in this area, but skip to the middle of the book if you don't want to read about his childhood. David Wilcock https://divinecosmos.com/ Corey Goode's website https://spherebeingalliance.com/ Corey Goode says he was secretly drafted into the space program as a child, trained, and used to telepathically read aliens who were in negotiations with the space program officials at meetings. He says he spent a lifetime in outer space work, then was age regressed and returned to his original timeline as a child, then taken again for another lifetime, twice. He said they didn't do it more than twice in a row for fear of severely damaging the human subjects. He is a quiet, unassuming person, reluctant to speak about it, but says he does it to make people aware of what the US government is really up to. Why do we continually want someone we can’t have?
birdingnut comments on May 9, 2018:
At the risk of being trolled by the religious "gender binary" crowd, who think "all females" and "all males" are exactly alike, the trait of "falling in love" and longing for the unattainable is a male trait, found on the right side of the hemisphere of the brain (where studies show most male traits are located). The "falling in love" trait is useful because it keeps sexually promiscuous men in thrall to one person long enough to help raise the children and increase his chances of continuing his DNA line. However, women who are masculine enough in traits to be able to "fall in love" are put at risk. Being besotted with a man, forgiving all, taking him back no matter what he does, etc., puts her at risk from harm once the man realizes there are no consequences for his bad behavior. Most cis (people who identify with their birth genders), hetero women with strong female traits, like most of my US women relatives and friends, wouldn't put up with any nonsense from men, and in fact, wouldn't date unsuitable men to begin with. They are the picky choosers, who look over the eager male suitors, and choose the one with most advantages for THEMSELVES. They would never date some dangerous loser, and even if they choose someone who later disrespects them, they don't hesitate to throw their stuff on the lawn and change the locks. However a masculine trait woman is likely to keep longing for a cheating lover, finding excuses to call him, etc., as men do with women lovers who leave them. Everyone is actually on a gender trait/sexual orientation/gender identity spectrum, by percentages. Studies show that even the most "femme" women and "macho" males only have about 80% of birth gender traits. Studies also show that the further the "gender trait" marker slides toward the middle of the scale, toward androgyny (mixed gender), the higher the IQs. but the less successful these people are in procreation or long-term relations. Their high IQs also usually mean they are likely busy being inventors, writers, actors, directors, etc. People on the most extreme ends of the gender trait spectrum, the most "femme" women and "macho" men, are the most statistically successful at long-term relationships and raising children, since their behaviors are evolved to match gender expectations. But they also have the lowest IQs, statistically. By the way, if you start to troll me for this comment, I'll just block you.

I don't know why Christians even say they're praying for sick people, since they also claim that God "controls everything," so everything that happens is "God's will." If anyone does get a miracle or is healed, it's from the calm belief of the people themselves, not a "god," since anyone can do it. I've had spectacular healings all my life, both for myself and others. Also for animals, but since nonbelievers can do this, it's all US. We create our own reality. But to get results one must believe something both consciously and subconsciously, so it's much more difficult to get results if one is afraid for a loved one, or in pain. I've gotten suddenly well from many things, but there are still things I see as "difficult" or "scary" so I've not had the detached, calm belief I've had when believing for someone else, for instance. “Consciousness is fundamental and matter is derived from consciousness." – Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, 1918 Nobel Prize in Physics

Christians have been trained since childhood to check their brains at the church door, so it's an automatic reflex. Besides, the church cultivates fear of hell and hatred of "sinners" to keep their congregations coming back, and donating money, of course. Trump is just using the advice of Machiavelli's "The Prince" to gain power- accusing a common "enemy," (the liberals, blacks, Muslims, the LGBTQ community, etc.) and frightening people to keep them in line, exactly as the church does.

Insects are apparently sentient, as all living things are. My son once accidently disturbed a bald hornet nest that had been built under the tarp cover of a table saw. The hornets chased him to the creek, hovered over the water, then covered our two-story farm house windows with angrily buzzing hornets who wouldn't let us out the door all day. I went outside that night and sprayed the nest in the dark. But when I noticed a bald hornet snatching a horse fly from one of my horse's backs, I decided not to disturb the new hornet nest, built only three feet from the horse pasture gate, so they could take care of the fly problem for me, since the hornets weren't bothering us. The hornets ignored everyone in our family, the neighbor kids, and even accepted my relatives when they visited, allowing everyone to walk through the pasture gate, only three feet from the nest, except for one warning sting for my sister's husband. His scent was apparently different from ours. However, when my blue heeler pup ripped a hole in the nest, they chased her to the creek and kept her hiding under the water, and after that, she had to circle far out around to follow us and our other three dogs into the horse pasture. The hornets never forgave her all summer, until the fall when the frost killed the nest.
It's disappointing to see how many posts are about domestic politics compared to international.

Good heavens..he could have said what he wanted to say in three minutes. He is so boring, I now understand why nobody knows about him. Also, his droning on and on, illustrates the reason why US news is now mostly spin politics, scandals and nonsense... to keep US people entertained and watching, bringing in the advertising dollars. Since few blue collar people travel out of the country, they cater to them. I remember when that change in US news happened-perhaps their funding was being pulled and they had to do something to keep their audience. I was watching the news in the 1980s, and suddenly, one day they replaced the professional newscasters with sexy young women in tight clothes, who began mostly reporting on scandals and movie stars. I was shocked, but understood why...the average blue collar Joe just wants sex and violence, or they'll change channels. The old news commentators looked at each other, and one of them remarked, on camera (!), "and to think, I have a degree in political science and have been proud of my job until now..." But here in Thailand I watch international news channels, but even those newscasters are shocked and sometimes amused by our train wreck of a president, remarking that the US news is at least entertaining, since you never know what crazy, insane thing Trump will do next.

I've seen so many UFOs over the years in both Haiti and the US, can't count them all. Usually with friends and crowds of others-one even followed my husband and me during a trip for about 300 miles in 1973, but I stopped seeing them very much after the late 1970s. Cloaking devices, maybe? I saw one space vehicle above my Kentucky farm, about the size of a small house, that was obviously human made..kind of clunky and movie set-ish, in 1999, while star gazing with a new boyfriend. I felt disgusted at the time that our government is being so "cloak and dagger" about such sightings..mocking people who report UFOs, etc. See the documentary, "Unacknowledged" on YouTube or Netflix, for videos of world leaders, US presidents, astronauts, NSA agents, and scientists admitting that our goverment is doing an aggressive cover-up of anything to do with alien life, supposedly to avoid panic and/or collapse of financial markets, but actually to avoid sharing the technology. By the way, if you start to troll me over this comment, I will just block you.

Do married men and women EVER like the same movies? If they're watching the same one, likely the husband is humoring her, and wishing he could get back to the football game. Besides, married couples don't need movies as an excuse to divorce..any reason will do.

Studies show that when both alt-right and liberal people take a political survey, then are given a calming session of yoga, where they are led in imagining themselves safe and happy, then take a similar survey afterward, the alt-right people's answers will now match those of the liberals. It's FEAR that drives the alt-right, and makes them obedient to someone they think will protect their rights.

My attitude is less accommodating; I'd just say I don't believe in that anymore, and keep repeating that whenever questioned, followed by looking disinterested, and wandering out of the room until they learn not to ask me. I don't usually send cards to people anyway, because I think they're stupid. When I was little, the only reason I liked getting a card was that sometimes people sent money in them. I didn't care about the card at all. You pay all that money and postage and they glance at it, and toss it. It's nonsense. In the case of weddings and funerals, I make exceptions. If I send a present for a birthday or other secular event, though, I first ask them what on Amazon they would like, then ship to them it for free because I'm a Prime member, include the free gift card, and pay extra for gift wrapping.
