How are you going to spend Thanksgiving?
Triphid comments on Nov 15, 2018:
Considering that I'm an Aussie living in Australia and 'Thanksgiving' is an American Holiday I won't be celebrating it at all.
Triphid replies on Nov 15, 2018:
@GuyKeith And, why Sir is it an ' outrage' may I ask.
Why doesn't somebody just go back a bit further in time and give his old man a rubber?

Triphid replies on Nov 15, 2018:
@RiverRick I wasn't advocating assassinating him, I was just offering up a bit of wry Aussie humour. As for the ' coronary' bit, there's 2 problems there; 1) firstly he'd need a heart, and, 2) most coronaries these days are recoverable from, therefore I'd like to suggest that he suddenly suffers from, 1) incurable fear of speaking either in public or private, 2) incurable, continuous explosive Gastro-enteritis, and last but by no means least, 3) a permanent, incurable, untreatable loss of ALL Libido, Sexual drive and potency.

Triphid replies on Nov 12, 2018:
@DevilMayCare I used the 'Jews' instead of 'Jewish people' NOT because I am an anti-Semite ( which I am not btw) BUT because I am totally pissed off that they were given lands that did NOT belong to them after WWII in accordance with the Balfour Act and have, since then, set about methodically warring with almost everyone around them including the Palestinians yet receive absolute NO Embargoes, etc, from the Western Powers and the U.S. openly supports them, sells them armaments and educates them on the use of them. Yes, the historical lists of Genocides is massive to say the least, including the Genocides committed by the British, Spanish, Portuguese, etc, etc, BUT why is it that the ONLY War Crimes Trials ever held were the Nuremburgh Trials against Germany and that miserable Token one against Japan?

@Mortal Neither was I, my friend, I was just mentioning that Lunar Cycles are approx. 28 days in duration therefore there are 13 Lunar Cycles in a 365 day period or year, hence 969 divided by 13 = 74.5 years approx. I see your reasoning though considering that the Ancient Romans, until Gaius Julius Caesar became Dictator for Life the Roman Calends were solely based upon the 28 day Lunar Cycles and not the Solar Cycles of 365.254 days as we have now. Julius Caesar actually changed the Roman Calends to coincide with the Solar Cycle System used by the Egyptians thus bringing it more into line with what we use today. I agree with you theory as it stands.

Every body part put across its argument as to why it should be 'boss' and the others listened quietly UNTIL the arse hole spoke up, then every other part broke out into loud, raucous laughter. The arse hole suddenly decided to close itself up, no waste was being excreted, it all built up and up, the body became unsteady, the stomach got more and more bloated, the brain became confused, dizzy and lost control of itself, then all the other parts held a vote and elected the arse hole as being the ' Boss' of the body. The moral of this story is simply, It does NOT take a brain to be a 'Boss' ANY arse hole can do that job.

Triphid replies on Nov 11, 2018:
No so really, humans are very rational for the most part, they rationalize everything around BUT only those who seem unable to come to grips with the REAL Rationality of Life and existence usually will run, head-long, towards the mysticisms and magics of religions for a much simpler and easier ' digestible' explanation. We THINK we need to have everything organized into nice, neat little boxes/folders, call them what you may, such as, for example, our calendars tell us that a certain season of the year begins upon a certain day of a specific month, i.e. Southern Hemisphere, Summer begins on December the 1st.but in all reality it does not happen that way, just as, using the '24 hour' clock system there cannot be a 2400hrs and a 0000hrs occurring at the exact same time. Humans need and desire things to be 'rationalized' around them, UNLESS of course they are the ones who actual decide to think and view thing from the aspect of outside those neat, tidy little boxes and then, and only then, does human knowledge, understanding and advancement occur.

Triphid comments on Nov 6, 2018:
Well now that is a new one me, Mr. Trumpshit, no-one can keep more promises than they make simply because it IS a complete and utter logically IMPOSSIBLE thing to do, even for an Arrogant, Petulant, Self-centered, Ego-maniacal Perpetrator of Terminological inexactitudes such as yourself.

ErichZannIII comments on Nov 20, 2017:
According to the Bible, sins can occur in thought as well as action, and nobody is immune from sin. First of all, we are all guilty of the sins of the first two humans (supposedly), and as a result, we must devote our lives to God to atone for said sins. But most religions don't believe in sin. ...
Triphid replies on Nov 6, 2018:
"The church put society back together from the pieces in the Dark Ages," who are you trying to kid? Yes, the concept of the Ancient Roman Empire did collapse BUT it soon became the Holy Roman Empire, just the same garbage but under a new name, which eventually became the Holy Catholic Church of Rome, then changed its name once more to become the Catholic Church. Since then the Churches have been battling each other for supremacy and we, mere mortal humans have been their cannon fodder. The terminology of 'Dark Ages' was originated by the Catholic Church in an attempt to falsely claim that it brought about 'enlightenment ' to the western world, in all TRUTH it instead brought suppression of thoughts, ideas and discoveries that would benefit human society that was the beginning of the REAL Dark Ages of Humankind.

@ProudMary After reading your little message on your profile I thought the ' peeing off the porch' bit sounded quite fun, there are a few people in this area who's porches I'd dearly love to pee upon but being in a town that's not a good thing because, with my luck, someone would see and report me for public indecency. However, one of the promises my daughter asked me to make as she was in the last stages of cancer was that she wanted me to ' piss' on her ' mother's' grave for her. I've kept every promise to her except that one so far and will, when that heartless, cruel. self-centered monstrosity dies, keep that promise as well. Lorrae's ' mother, and I use the term very loosely here btw, was such a loving, caring and dutiful person that, despite her only child fighting for her life against cancer at the age of 15 years, she could only manage to find a whole 3 days out of 9 and a half months during the treatment to actually travel down to see her daughter and only then because she had an appointment with a Specialist for herself. She made excuses as to why she couldn't come down to attend Lorrae's 16th ( and to be, sadly, her last ever) birthday nor could be there in the last week of Lorrae's life, her response when told by me that her daughter had but a few days to live was, " Tell the bloody kid that she'll have to wait, I've got friends up here who need me more than she does." Is it any wonder that Lorrae requested that she be cremated and only some of her closest friends and I scatter her ashes whilst swearing an oath never to reveal to anyone where they were scattered?

@TheMiddleWay Okay, first off let's deal with you self-righteous pedantry, shall we? Perhaps, instead of using 'REAL' I should have used GENUINE or Dedicated, would that suit your need for exactness? Genuine/Dedicated ATHEISTS, imo and very long experience differ from what I would call the ' Fashionable/Trendy Atheists, i.e. they still have a lingering seed of religious belief within them BUT will don their atheist hat as and when the situation requires just as do so many who claim to be ex-Catholics for example simply because they fear shedding the yoke ' just in case' they may need it again some day. You see, imho, shedding oneself of religion is akin to striving to rid a street dog of fleas in that you may get rid of them today BUT tomorrow, or some other day, they will be back. Secondly, as to my setting myself up as the ' sole judge,' as you put it, you could NOT be any further off the mark even if you tried your hardest. I congratulate you on having your PhD in Physics and upgrading it to include Medicine, well done, BUT, I don't wish to sound boastful, arrogant or self-centered here, I also have 3 Doctorate Degrees ( hence the username TRIPHID meaning Tri=3, PhD to which I added the letter I to make it more sensible) in Psychology, Physiology and Theology and Comparative Modern Religions as well as 4 Bachelors Degrees in Histories ( both Modern and Ancient), Ancient Languages, Anatomy and Medical Sciences and am presently studying to gain my degree in Archaeology. FYI, the definition of an ATHEIST is derived from the Ancient Greek meaning A- without, denying, rejecting and Theos - meaning God/Gods or Deities ergo simply an ATHEIST is one who denies, rejects or is without any or ALL God/s or Deities what-so-ever, therefore I can claim and am most definitely a Genuine Atheist as are the 306 other Genuine Atheists I mentioned in my earlier comment/post.
