@FrayedBear Yeah well it strikes me as being a bit 'odd' that it all started the ball rolling, so to speak, with the allegations re- Jimmy Saville AFTER he was dead and buried then snowballed with allegations coming out of the woodwork against almost ONLY people of Notability like Rolf Harris. Yes, I'm fully aware that there are and always have been Sexual Predators and Low-life Scum the likes of Catholic Priests, Ministers, etc, of other religions including Xrstianity and in the world of Movie Making, etc, BUT there have always been those who see an opportunity to jump on the bandwagon of Litigation as well AND will do so at the slightest opportunity since, besides the chances of monetary gain, they also get their 5 minutes in the Spotlights as well, the one thing they ALL crave and lust after in my opinion.

Probably quite a few because in many cases fighting the fires is as deluded as fighting carnivorous habits. What is also deluded is building dwellings in the middle of dense combustiable material like forests in hot dry climates and expect it not to burn. Hebel blocks have a 4 hour fire rating.

I'm a bit of an Amateur Philosopher myself plus I have a Degree in the Studies of Philosophy also and, in my opinion here, your comment on philosophy are quite incorrect. Philosophy and Philosophers, more often that not, ask questions and the right questions as well BUT they choose to do so in ways that may cause the readers to actually THINK for themselves rather than having the answers provided for them on a 'silver platter' so to speak. Whereas Religions do NOT pose the 'What If' questions, they simply put forward the 'This IS' and the "This Will be' edicts and state forcefully that " these are things completely unchangeable since THEY ARE the Will of God." An example of Philosophic thinking for you, " IF a tree falls to the ground in an completely uninhabited forest where there IS no-one to hear it, then did that tree make a sound when it fell and struck the ground?" Or, "IF a god speaks to one person who is quite alone and there is No-one else who hears it, how can the person show for a fact that it was god who spoke and not merely his imagination?'

After about an hour of discussions, etc, the Lawyer suggested that we ALL may wish to consider 1 of 2 actions available to us, 1) She will compose an OFFICIAL letter notifying him that " Any further breaches of our Peace and Privacy WILL be resulting in a Court Action being taken to have a Restraining Order placed upon for a period of NOT less 12 months," or, 2) We immediately start Court Proceedings to have a Restraining Order issued against him AND request the Court to IMPOSE a ruling that he attends and undergoes a FULL and Complete Psychological and Psychiatric Evaluation within 30 days of the Ruling being made." We took a vote and the consensus was in the Affirmative for Option #2. The Lawyer has also offered her Legal Services to us for absolutely Free and will be preparing the case for Option #2 to heard by the Magistrate as early as next Tuesday. We are all guessing and EXPECTING that the Fertilizer WILL hit the Ventilator in the next few days when he gets a knock on his door, for a change, and finds the local Sheriff of the Court handing HIM a Summons to appear in Court.

@mentalinnuendo And as a footnote here, given that the Romans were such strict and very pedantic record keepers, even to the point that records HAVE been found recently of the very PRECISE numbers of captured slaves crucified AFTER the Spartacus Rebellion ( numbering 1,137 males and 61 females) along the Appian Way into Rome, there SHOULD have been a very EXACT and precise record as well IF some Hebrew from Nazareth was crucified for Sedition, Treason, etc, etc, as 'claimed by the Goat-herders guide to the Galaxy since ALL Roman Governors WERE required by Imperial Edicts to keep precise records of ALL executions by ALL methods and Means in their Provinces for the purposes of Taxation Levies. Even disgraced Roman Governors were required to return to Rome and present ALL their records to the Emperors YET, after asking a well respected Historian friend, who is involved completely in Roman History to the point of almost obsession, THERE ARE NO records of either a Governor named Pontius Pilate being in Judea NOR the Crucifixion of ANYONE named Yeyoshua/Jesus of Nazareth during the reign of Emperor Tiberius OR his predecessor, Emperor Augustus BUT there is record of the Crucifixion of a Jew named Barrabas of Tyre for Murder, Pillage and Arson as demanded by the Sanhedrin and the High Priest of the Temple, Caiaphas.

@azzow2 Only ever with using open sights as well. My Dad was a Local Champion Marksman 3 times for 5 consecutive years in a row each time with both a .303 Lee Enfield rifle ( Open sights only) and a .22 rifle, again only open sights, held the record for the number of bullseyes scored over a distance of 1,280 yards. From the time I was big enough and old enough to hold his .22 rifle and be able to aim it he taught me everything he knew about using rifles by setting up bottle caps at distances from 20 yards through to 200 yards, spaced out at an average of 30 yards or so and I HAD to hit each target dead-centre each time, 1 miss and I had to start over again. Once I could hit each target dead-centre with every shot, then he bought me my .177 air rifle to keep the sparrow population under control.

Yes, Christianity, for example, just stuck its nose in and found it as extra way to 1) get in more members, etc, 2) to make more money from the marriage rituals, etc, and, 3) Governments got involved, in my opinion, JUST for the money to made as well. In Ancient Egypt, for example, there WERE NO, what we would call, marriage ceremonies/rituals, instead should a couple wish to 'unify' as a family unit ALL they need do was to spend 3 or more nights together in the same house, sharing the same sleeping arrangements and they considered, after that, to be the foundations of a new family unit. I see that and in my own opinion, SHOULD 2 people decide to want to live together as one, then that is their decision and theirs alone, a Marriage Certificate, in my opinion, IS just a piece of paper that presumes to license 2 people to do the same thing as, mostly, have done well before undertaking the Arcane, Archaic and meaningless ritual of standing in Church or Registry Office, etc.

I especially liked the bit where he stated that there are NO big gods, i.e. they are all small gods that expand in magnitude as the numbers of believers ( Buyers) increase. I tend to think that the same has worked with money/wealth over the millenia where originally humans lived by a barter system quite successfully UNTIL someone invented money and then everything seemed to go 'tits up' ( excuse the expression). For example, in the Barter system there is a basis of an equal trade where each person involved comes out with what they wanted BUT in the money exchange systems we are now stuck with, in my opinion, the Merchant, Wholesaler/Retailer or whatever dictates the exchange and the purchaser has very little or no choice at all in the matter. To my mind the same works for most religious belief systems, i.e. the Vendor ( Church, Priest or whatever) makes the rules, controls the exchange and gathers the profit whilst the Purchaser simply abides by those rules of exchange or MUST go without. As to that Gray person and his/her comment that Atheism is just another system of belief, i.e. a form of religion, well, technically any Religion MUST have a PRIMARY and Supreme Deity for the followers to adore, worship and venerate ergo, IF Gray were to be correct, then Atheists, like myself, MUST spend part of time upon bended knee with clasped hands PRAYING to literal Pantheon of Gods and Goddesses drawn from ALL the disciplines of the Sciences, something which, and speaking only for myself as ONLY anyone can truly do, I for one most definitely do NOT.

Prior to that expose, Nuns who fell pregnant to Priests gave birth to their illegitimate babies and the babies were thrown ALIVE into those very same Lime-pits then covered with lime powder to be dissolved away by it. Catholic Priests have been playing hide the 'holy' salami with Nuns, and Altar/Choir boys, etc, since Priests, Nuns, Monasteries and Convents were invented and THAT IS A KNOWN FACT. Cardinals, Bishops and POPES themselves have either been regular CUSTOMERS at the Brothels in Rome and elsewhere for Centuries OR even Owners and Operators of Brothels. Catholic 'celibacy' has always been one the cloaks behind which these Priests, etc, have hidden their foul and nefarious sexual activities for centuries and YES, the Pope and the Vatican HAVE always condoned it, sheltered it, hidden it away UNTIL recently when it WAS finally revealed to the eyes of the world at last. After the police arrived and requested that I get my dog to release the offender, the cuffed him, the offender, took him first to be charged, THEN to the hospital were he received 32 sutures to close up the wounds from Charlie's bite and the next morning the 2 policemen returned to my house and presented Charlie with 1 jilo of fresh sausages as his reward. We worked in 2 crews, one crew leading the way and driving the Star Pickets (fence posts) into the often hard and very rocky ground and the second crew coming about 1 kilometer behind them stringing the mesh to the pickets. All done by hand and using a thing called a Star Picket Driver ( hand-held and operated of course), we were replacing the old style 5 strand wire fences with the new rust-proof 2 inch x 2 inch square mesh that helps keep foxes, rabbits and feral dogs at bay from the livestock.

Especially Lillie's little bit of fun that he'd have with the opening ball of most matches like sending down a full toss only instead of a ball it would be a tomato or an apple the looks on the faces of the receiving batsmen was always worth a bloody good laugh.
Sweet Jesus 😂🤣

As an agnostic Zen monk who shoots at nothing but paper targets (at long distances), I'm partial to the .300 Win Mag shooting a Nosler Accubond 180 grain at little pieces of paper about 5 football fields away. If I had only an AR and an AK to choose from, I'd take the AR because of my fascination ...

@mischl When I was hunting Feral Pigs I used a WWI 7.69mm German Mauser that was actually taken from a Turkish solider who surrendered to ANZAC soldiers at Gallipoli, my Great Uncle brought to Australia with him when he sent home with bad wound to the left shoulder. That thing had a really heavy to it but nowhere even close to the one the Webley puts out.

@Cutiebeauty Hey, no need to get nasty, I was making a joke btw. Lighten up there Lady.
Hi everyone, I think there are some scammers who have found their way onto this site.

Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, S.E. Asia, etc, etc, they seem to crawl out of the woodwork from almost everywhere on numerous other sites/groups so I've found, imho, they're worse than flies on a fresh, hot turd ( excuse the crudity please). Geez, I even used to get them on my land-line ( home phone) until I put on my answering " Hello, Murphy's Mortuary here, You kill 'em, we chill 'em." Haven't had a phone scammer since.

## When a person admits to seeing a show originally aired in the late 50's and early 60's, they're telling 'ya they're an old fart. EXCEPTION: Rerun TV channels.

@273kelvin I'll bet you Poms won't forget so quickly that we just kicked your arses at cricket again though. Looks like you Poms might need to resurrect Jardine and his dirty, lowdown, underhanded Bodyline bowling trick again because WE have the Ashes again.

@mischl I'll warn you in advance that the Webley .360 has a recoil kick that would make any mule extremely jealous and I'm definitely NOT joking when I say that firing it a night you can actually see a muzzle flame that is about 8 inches long coming from it. It takes a standard 6 cartridge magazine only and given the overall length of each cartridge it is no wonder why it only takes a 6 cartridge magazine. My Pig hunting mate is now re-loading his own cartridges and has found that each cartridge is ONLY capable of being re-loaded a maximum of 6 times before the brass starts to part at the area around the firing cap and rim.
