I've never watched GOT, they are huge fans. But be the best you that you can be, and sometimes that has to be enough.

@IamNobody Well, sugar, I feel your pain. I remember who my last date was, I remember where, and I don't remember exactly when. I remember the last male to join me in my bedroom, and I'm thinking it was more than 2 years ago. I don't think I'm unlovable, but I'm batting zero. So I don't know what the hell to tell you except I feel your pain and I'm in the same leaky boat. And I wish to hell I wasn't but what are we gonna do? What I do know is that I am worth the effort, as you are. I'm not going to settle for just anyone, I tried that once. I deserve better, as do you. What I do know is that I am going to continue living my life as I have been, I'm not waiting for Prince Charming, or even Minion Not So Charming. I will do it the best I can and with all the style and grace I can find. If I find someone that will be great. If I don't I will still have lived a full life. I used to ask what the hell is wrong with me that I can't get a date? Now I know there is nothing "wrong" with me, I'm just not everyone's cup of tea. And not everyone is mine. That's OK. I wish I could say I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but after picking this scab off tonight is likely not to be a good night. The one thing that I am for damn certain of is that I am a survivor. I'm going to be OK, and I'm not going to settle. And you will be OK too.
This is something every cat lover should have. LOL

in 1994 to 1999 we lived next to an wooded area in western Washington state. The HOA had not knocked it down yet to put up houses. The kids would go back there and explore and come home with tons of dirt and stories. They just had a blast. There was a swampy area, they built a fort, they'd catch frogs. Then we moved. That was their favorite part of their childhood.

Divorce is hard on the kids no matter what age. My youngest was Jr in HS, and lived with me in an apartment post divorce. After her Sr year she moved back with her dad and did not handle letting me know well at all. The two older girls were in college and post grad. Eventually they all lived with their dad as adults, and got to know him well, and swore they'd never do that again. We are now right at 10 years post divorce, the kids are my allies. We do family holidays so I see the ex and we're amicable but not cozy. The kids have a realistic adult view of their dad and they also tell me I should have bailed 10 years earlier, but hindsight is 20/20. And they're also right, but that isn't what I was raised to do. So if you're still reading, my point in the ramble is to wait it out. Time is a great healer and as they mature they will come around. They will remember they need their mom.

educatedredneck comments on Jun 14, 2018:
Are we including lies of omission? A lot of information should private and only shared with those we trust. Some people are really nutty about "lying". I'll tell my sister I ran 5 miles but my GPS says I ran 4.7 or 5.5 miles, she considers that deliberate lying and I think that's too much BS....
HippieChick58 replies on Jun 14, 2018:
4.7 or 5.5 vs 5 miles is splitting hairs. However lying about your employment status, marital status, or legal status is big stuff. If your profile says single and I find out you're not, I will be out the door and on my way.

So, JustKip, you've done the easy work of forgiving your brother. Now do the hard part of forgiving yourself for being human. It is human to hold grudges, to wait. We don't ever see that there might not be time to do important things like repair relationships. Let go of the guilt sweetie. It is a burden you don't need to carry. Forgive yourself, love yourself. As for plans. What do you really want to do, or where do you want to go? What makes your heart happy, what is in your bucket list? What will you be sad you didn't do when you face your own death? What is it that is important to you, that makes you who you are? Make plans sweetie, or life will pass you by and you will die without having lived. Take a chance!
