Dad was a great guy. He inspired me to love swimming. He told me he smoked dope as a soldier in the Panama canal zone in the 1940's and I can still recall sharing a J with him in the backyard (so mom wouldn't find out). I still have his swimming medals he earned. He was a 9 to 5 guy....often absent - often too tired to do things...but overall, a good man. He died, too young, at age 68....of stomach/gut cancer. I've already had surgery there...so yea, it runs in the family.

But this did get me thinking...These politicians seem so false, fake with their moral pleas, while extolling large families and unplanned children within their own social group. So I assume that the wives of these men so tolerant as to accept sex and pregnancy, whether they're ready for it or not? Apparently, so. And a second thought; Do these politicians really think that the poor and ignorant should also be deprived of family planning tools? They also seem to oppose "planned parenthood" ...is it a punishment ethic that they seek for the poor and minorities?

A scientist isn't a paid position; it's being a super-critical thinker, tester, and writer. Since science is taking a back seat to this present political situation in America, scientists need to step up their game so interpretations - like the one made in the meme - are well challenged. if we don't demand better publicized scientific research - we're risking losing our species survival on the planet...and perhaps taking many other species with us.

The pageantry and formal performances of the #Religulous is indeed impressive. Their art work and their building are also impressive. ...and I get it. Religion was needed for centuries due to the relatively naive, uneducated masses. It helped them. It calmed them. It made them cooperative. But it was obviously abused by many. Many of us are here because we saw the hypocrisy of religion early in our lives. We saw the falsehoods. The myths became as unbelievable as visualizing Santa coming down a chimney. So, yes, the pageantry is impressive; but no; I wouldn't miss it if it were removed from my life. Since I haven't been in a church or temple, or Mosque in decades...it's a moot point.
