Waesucks interjection alas.
LenHazell53 comments on Mar 12, 2021:
Wae is Caledonianised version of Woe and likewise sucks evolved in the UK from sakes, as in for god's sakes, so for the sake of woe, something that deserves to be mourned. Where it is listed waesucks is defined as an expression of pity, akin to alas, but more specific, except in the Geordie dialect, where it mean a pitiful fool and can have the alternate spelling of "wazzocks"
Today, we can think about a famous atheist and writer.

This is not surprising because from the 14th when they were introduced to Europe, to the sixteenth century oranges were not called oranges, they were called 'narang' or 'naranja' (they are still are in many middle eastern countries and in Spain). By the 16th century it was popular to use French words for exotic foodstuff so we adopted the French 'pomme d'orenge' (barley apple) for oranges and over time d'orenge and narang, mixed to become a narange, and then a norenge and finally an orange.

There are many types of capital.
LenHazell53 comments on Mar 9, 2021:
It (moral culture) is a prime example of covert circular reasoning. True Moral Capital could only be established as being measurable, if there was such a thing as an accepted moral median, by which and to which all other acts could be compared and measured, the ethic equivalent of 0 degrees centigrade, below which things are less moral and above which thing are more moral. However, most medians are measure of energy or matter, things that demonstrably axiomatic, tangible and measurable, they are objective in the true sense of the word. Morality and ethics are not; they are both abstract and very, very subjective. Therefore, Moral capital would have to be based on something similar such as "cultural capital". Cultural capital is based upon a perceived and flexible set of phenomena derived from artistic cannons, legal principles, and accepted social norms the general underlying principle of the concomitant civilization. Typically, these are boiled down to simple aphorisms such as 1. Might makes right 2. Compassion trumps all 3. Creativity is better than destruction 4. Improvement of well-being is desirable 5. The state is more important than the individual is 6. The individual or family is the foundation of the state These are then judged as good or bad and made in to the median morality of the time, however each of these good or bad is open to corruption by focusing on one aspect of society and universal application, to make them not the median but the baseline AND the border that must not be breached For example and respectively, the above can be made be seen as 1. Social Darwinism and eugenics 2. Victim culture 3. Societal brain washing 4. Ultra capitalism 5. Totalitarianism 6. Anarchism Once this is established, we have as you say, the absolute moral line, which is morally right absolutely and is thus become ineffable, making the act of critiquing it an obviously immoral act. In the words of Richard Nixon "Well, when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal."

It is no victory to cancel one totalitarian dictator's utopia, if it is only for the purpose of replacing it with a "more acceptable" totalitarian dictator's utopia. If your fellow citizens think fascism is preferable you need to ask why? not how do we shut you up? If you do, you are already one of them, and are just protecting you brand copyright. If your "normality" involves telling you, for the common good, what is acceptable to read, what is acceptable to say, what is acceptable think, you are not living in a civilized culture, because you are only one step away from the midnight knock on the door to remove you from decent people, for "re-education" in a fun little camp somewhere.

LenHazell53 comments on Mar 7, 2021:
Maybe a bad example, as according to the 8 survivors of the massacre at Jonestown, only a minority of the people's temple drank the poison willingly. A larger proportion either drank the poison at gun point, or were shot for refusing or trying to run away. Jim Jone's control of their minds was not as firm as he thought it was, especially not when the survival instinct crept in. Conversely the Heaven's gate mass suicides all seem to have been voluntary, in three groups over three days, with the members even filming goodbye messages for their friends and family, in which they seemed completely happy in their delusions.

If find this idea to akin to "Hate the sin Love the sinner" Religions are made of people! Religious leaders only govern because people allow them to govern by consent tacit or otherwise! Religions HATE, they thrive on HATE, they use HATE and they fuel HATE. When as most of you will know, you "come out" as an Atheist you are met with HATE from religion on every side, be it a fatwa, shunning, being declared a heretic or a blasphemer. PEOPLE pull their children away from you in the street as if you might infect them, friends and family refuse to talk to you because you have insulted and rejected THEIR religion. They take it personally. And yet still we as people who have seen the actual truth, have this idea that we must love the persecutor, see him or her as a victim and forgive them their abuse of us, an idea that comes from that gormless hippie, foolish HATE monger Jesus Christ himself, while still hating the religion he FOUNDED. WE atheists and agnostics know this because we have been there, and I hope like me you regret every minute that you bought in to those filthy lies! Grieve for every poor "soul" you brought in to "the body of Christ" and feel guilty for it. However, until the Muslim, the Catholic, the Jew, the Hindu or whatever individual turns and says "I Have doubts, I think my religion maybe wrong." I will never respect or even pity the fact that they want the profane homosexual DEAD, the profane blasphemer DEAD, the heretic DEAD, the learned woman DEAD, the everyone who is not what they are DEAD! BECAUSE THEIR HOLY BOOK SAYS SO. And that they will ONLY forgive if the person telling truth if they REPENT of that truth, be it logic or science or reality. Oh yes some will say "I don't believe that bit" BUT they will still support the institution that does, when they should tear that filthy weed out of their lives by the roots. But they don't, because, of community, of fellowship of a sense of belonging. Well the only thing that craves the company of filth is the consumer of filth, the dung beetle, the fly, rats and vermin. And I will HATE that they are stupid enough to believe garbage and call it love and act on it and perform ATROCITY in its name and call it compassion and mercy. I will NOT HATE the religion, YET love the religious, because they CHOOSE to be religious, they choose to subscribe to HATEFULNESS and VILENESS and WILFUL IGNORANCE for that choice I will JUDGE them, I will judge them seven ways to Sunday and I will find them WANTING!

I regularly talk to about 13 people about nine of who I am good terms with. I am clinging on, hoping things might get better again, that some of the old guard Might return, but I'm not holding my breath. Yet all I see is an ever increasing number of trolls, religious soul savers, the agnostic but spiritual arsemongles, and worst of all the "woke" brigade, who live only to find fault with every one, to scream -ist, -phobe and inappropriate at everyone else. This is why society is falling apart, because most people under 35 see themselves as victims of a world they are not prepared for and are unable to cope with. Soft weak, over entitled whiners, who don't grow up until...well they don't grow up. They have their parents raise their children for them, they rely on the bank of mum and dad, and go to pieces at the first hint of things not going how they want them to. Rather than deal with a problem they phone a lawyer, and live by the woke code of social media and can't understand anyone who is not surgically to their personal tech, because if they lose their phone they can no longer function as a productive member of society.

The whole point of a modern capitalist economy is to have the vast majority of the wealth not be in circulation but to be shown to be something everyone can aspire to IF they are willing to work hard for very little. This is the myth of the work ethic. This encourages productivity and profit under the myth of *potential* prosperity, which is reinforced from time to time by acts of philanthropy and hegemony, and the introduction of new "must have" products that have built in obsolescence and need to be replaced periodically with new better versions. All of this leads to *on paper* wealth that does not actually exist, since no country has been on the gold standard for over fifty years, which is stored in the accounts of corporations and individuals who could never actually spend it because if they did, they entire system would collapse. This is the myth of international finance In order to purge large amounts of this imaginary money they world has occasional recessions that wipe billions of money units off the accounts, but that does not actually go anywhere, it simply ceases to exist. This give the excuse to the industrial complex to impose austerity on the poor again and generate the illusion of more wealth through hard but cheaply paid work.

Mutant Monster Dream and I could not take control of the dream, finally had to throw in the towel ...
LenHazell53 comments on Mar 2, 2021:
It sounds like a fear of the loss of authority dream. The creature that is kept buried in the depths, you see as a mutant, a literal dick head (phallic symbolism) something dangerous to the innocent, because of the monstrous idea that come out of its head. The structure of the narrative suggests you are a person used to being in control, and having your own way, even in dreams. This monster within the facade you present to the world (the traditional new England farm house) is out of your control. Even when your mind calls in back up in the form of higher authority figures (policemen) it refuses to conform to acceptable behaviour. Your attempts to reset do not work, as this thing is not subject to your rules in its own environment, it cannot be destroyed and so, you feel, must be confined, and that is what you have to settle for, locking it away. That however is only in the dream scape, in the real world, you can deal with it. I suggest you expand on the narrative you have written here, take control of the creature and instead make it your creation, thereby exorcising it, dragging it out in to the light and taking control of it. You write very well and this dream could make an excellent story to be shared with the world.
