I have not cared for bacon since childhood. I used to pick off the fat when it was cooked lightly or break it into pieces and spread it around my plate to look like I had eaten it when it was overdone as in the picture. Always in trouble for not being grateful for “good” food.

@Killtheskyfairy It;s their show, I offered to do the turkey, she wants to do it. I'm doing the potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce. I cooked a small turkey today so that I could deglaze the pan for gravy and have the turkey bits to put in the gravy. The rest of the bird is already in the freezer in single serving packs, I plan on freezing some of the gravy to go with it. No matter how her's comes out, it will be good.

@LucyLoohoo Yes, both New York and New Jersey have active state investigations for tax evasion and fraud. The governors hold the power to pardon and each state has there own rules as to how that could happen. I think his move to Fla was to try and put some distance between those two jurisdiction and himself.

Electors to the EC are elected by their party conventions for the most part, some are actually on the general election ballot. Most states do not require that an elector vote for the party's nominee, but since they are generally party regulars, they vote the will of the people that elected them. Faithless electors are begged for by the losers, but there was only one in 2016 who cast a vote for Ron Paul. (Texas)

You are right, I was operating from memory, in the 29 states that allow late receipt of military ballots, it varies from two to 20 days.

@glennlab. Not to mention that armed services members have additional time (the rules are state specific) for their ballots to arrive and be counted. I don't know if service members' votes have ever flipped a winner, but, hey, this is a really close race.

I am falling back to my old habits of looking at Sec of State websites to see the actual breakout. In Texas, the first vote totals at 7:05 are all the early voting and mail ballots received prior to election day. If it holds true to form, those will be a good indicator of the winner here.

@NHjulie It is going to depend on how well the websites are working. I expect response time to be really slow and the polls may not even be closed before 10 pm tonight. I will be on pins and needles trying to figure the trends, which will be a lot more difficult since I was not involved directly in any campaign.

If you're up for teaching them the wonders of alcohol, just speed up the process by adding a sprinkle of yeast. I do that in my compost to speed up the breakdown of sugars.
