My range is essentially the Metro area. I'd consider 50 or 60 miles, but it wouldn't excite me. It would have to be a powerful attraction. Essentially Omaha metro area is out here all alone, and the next biggest metro area is Lincoln, 50ish miles away. If the relationship would work out, I don't want to be pressured to move away from Omaha, I don't want to be further away from my kids and grands.

Last year I introduced my then 2.5 year old granddaughter to the joys of fresh picked tomatoes right off the vine. This year I am hoping to introduce my now 2 year old grandson to the same joys. Grandson's exposure depends on the Covid figures in our area. He is coming to dinner tonight, but the tomatoes are not ripe yet. They will be back here for dinner in August unless the numbers rise.

I got cell phones for my kids when they started to drive. BUT my kids are 35, 31, and 28. It was a different world. My reasoning was - teen girls and driving and suburbs. I want them to be able to get in touch with me quickly when needed. I'd have very mixed feelings about giving a 9 year old a phone. Phones are expensive and can get them in big trouble if you're not careful. Tough decision.

I put tape over the gas gauge on my wife's car. Now we'll never have to fill up!
