Welcome!! I used to live in Rosepine, Louisiana. Happily for less than 2 years. I did not cry to see it in my rearview mirror. My oldest daughter was born at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital, Ft. Using pet names is a way to infer intimacy. I don't appreciate it when a relative stranger starts calling me honey, or dear. Lets get to know each other first. Usually I get that from scammers, I think they may have trouble keeping names straight, much easier to be non specific. That being said if someone messages me and tells me something really nice I am likely to call them sweetie.

I was married to the father of my children for over 25 years. Have been divorced almost 10 years. I have dated a few times, was in a long term long distance relationship after the divorce. That fell apart horribly when he couldn't get rid of his excess stuff to move to Omaha. He wanted a fresh start, but had too many ties that he couldn't cut or some such shit. I dated off and on after that. I encountered too many scammers. My last date with a real person was maybe 3 months ago, he said he'd like to see me again, and then ghosted me. After a few more scammers I dropped off all dating sites. I'm usually not nervous about first dates, I think my expectations are low enough now that there isn't any reason to be nervous. Am I cynical? I do not have high expectations but if you don't try....

Give me sleep! The house gets clean enough and I do have Roscoe the Robot Vac. I do enjoy running errands from time to time. And the kids are grown, I don't have to listen to them fight. I have to listen to a recap from time to time, but it isn't that hard to change the subject. I haven't had 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep in years.

I have been divorced about 8 years (don't remember the exact count anymore). For financial reasons I will never remarry because that would create a financial penalty when I retire. And for me as there will never be human kids, there is no other reason I can think of to marry. I want a long term committed shack up. As for others I say, "follow your bliss."

I was with my oldest on Tuesday and last night after work. New baby and new mama adjustment issues. I was able to tell my daughter how proud I was of her for all she has accomplished and how everything IS going to be OK. She's got some panic disorders going on. I had a conversation with her husband and told him that I thought he was holding up really well, and I was impressed with his quiet support and putting up with my daughter. He is really coming through for her. Her dad had mentally checked out about the time we got her home as a baby. My middle daughter frequently tells me how much I mean to her, and how she is proud of what I have accomplished.

I spent the day with my oldest daughter, her husband and son. She just gave birth on Saturday, and she has been having panic and anxiety attacks for the past couple of weeks. And not sleeping. Baby is doing lots of sleeping, but not eating. So I got activated on Grammy duty to help out. I know from experience it is hard to slow your breathing down when you're agitated, and she proved it today. The good news is she is getting help, all the doctors involved are communicating. And I kept telling her it does get better, it does get easier. Even if Junior goes on formula it doesn't mean you have failed, it means you chose what is best for him at the time and that is a win. It isn't how you planned it, but reality seldom is. You change plans and find your way, and you will find your way.

My kids are all within half an hour of me and there are now two grandchildren. My kids grew up not really knowing their grandparents, especially my folks due to ex's job (military) and my mom passed when I was a kid. I want to know my grandchildren and be close to spend lots of time with them. And then there is that job thing, I don't want to have to find a new job, it's bad enough before 60, I don't think it gets better. And I had a long distance relationship once. When it was good it was amazing, and when it broke apart it was very very bad. The distance killed it.

Upon reflection, I feel that I was harsh with all of my comments condemning posts about problem ...

Not getting any responses from men in my area. I get scammers who I've never met in person, but they love me, and then they have trouble and ask for money because they have no one else to ask. Aside from that, generally, I'm a liberal atheist in a conservative fairly religious state. I'm not slim, and I'm not 25. Or I'm meeting guys that want a sugar mama. And I'm not willing to relocate and not willing to do long distance.
