You're in charge, direct the flow. I am on my way to work for a half day today, and tomorrow we celebrate Sammy Claus's third birthday. We did family christmas on Sunday. Christmas birthdays are tough.

I gave up on decorating because it is too much work. Last year I dragged everything out of storage and let the kids take what they wanted. This year I made a xmas tree quilt. So I do have a tree, the cats actually like to sleep on it and they can't destroy it. Next week I will fold it up and put it in a closet, and next year I will spend a week or two trying to remember which closet it is in.

My youngest lives further east, and we have the family Christmas at her house tomorrow. We're doing breakfast brunch and will open presents, and enjoy the babies. On Christmas day we will be back at her house for the granddaughter's 3rd birthday. This is later in the day, more Birthday dinner rather than Christmas. Then New Years day at oldest daughter's home, then my birthday 5 days later, then youngest's birthday 8 days after that. We started this busy season with Thanksgiving on Nov 28th and then oldest daughter's birthday on Dec. 5th. We're kinda tiring of the party season right now.

Jeebus, even with "good" insurance you can rack up some big bucks. Or you insurance company can dick you over, deny, and drag out payment. I talked to one woman that BCBS denied over $50,000 in infusion bills. Her kid has cancer. They blamed the hospital, we produced our records, we did EVERYTHING they told us to and told her we were negligent. She is about to go to collections, well partially she is so stressed out she can't even think about it. She has a kid with cancer and she's too stressed to deal with the bills. It has been escalated to my supervisor because she said the magic word, negligence. She will likely have to hire a lawyer and sue BCBS. I see and hear such amazing crap in my job.

I went back to work in March, but it has not gone well. Hard to answer phones in customer service when you can't understand the callers. I have some hearing loss. My supervisor still isn't pleased with my progress. I expected to be fired today, so I would have happily re-embraced retirement. She canceled the damn meeting. So it looks like for the forseeable future I'm still employed... I turn 62 in 18 days. Not like I'm counting. Ideally I'll be employed at least til I'm 65 if we still have Medicare.

I have posted more than one controversial post, and learned what a great sisterhood/brotherhood this site can have when there is controversy. I also got blocked by several people and did some of my own blocking. @RavenCT you always had my back. I grew up with mean older brothers, and my dad was no picnic. I no longer let other people define who I am or what I am worth. I don't let the opinions of people I don't know or respect influence my idea of my self worth. While we were working my ginger kitty got up on my lap for some cuddles. I don't like to decorate, so my sister persuaded me to use my skills. I made a Xmas Tree Quilt. After Xmas I will fold it up and put it away. It is a good size for a lap quilt, about 58 x 64 inches, I think. It is functional too, will keep me warm. The challenge will be remembering where I put it when next December rolls around. So far the cats like it, they spend parts of the day sleeping on it.

I live alone, I leave the door open most of the time. Sometimes they watch me, often they don't. The younger one likes to try to investigate the shower while I'm using it. That usually doesn't last too long, her investigating that is. My showers... one of life's pleasures. Sometimes they're both in the same room I am, and sometimes I walk into my bedroom to find them asleep on my bed. I call them freaks, they don't seem to mind.

Personally, I did. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It helps that I was young and stupid. There are some really sick minds and warped personalities that tend to gravitate towards the military. I was not a good fit. However, it has helped me to better recognize BS or mind washing when I hear/see it. And guess who uses mind washing techniques? Churches, sales forces, sports teams. Luckily those groups are usually not well armed.

I add hemp hearts to many foods, but I realize recently that I have not been adding it as often.. I do eat oatmeal for breakfast, I will start adding the hemp hearts again in the morning. I also add chia seeds when I cook the oatmeal. It helps keep me very regular. :) During the hotter months I mix oatmeal with fruit puree and a few other ingredients and refrigerate at least over night. I make my week day breakfasts on the weekend and store in the fridge for consumption during the week. Currently I nuke the oatmeal while I fix breakfast for the kitties.

Given that the Christmas season is upon us it would be great to have a free from religion party.
