OMG! you should have mentioned that to the manager. I worked in the billing office of one of our hospitals. The onboarding training included a video on proper hand hygiene and I was told it is annual training. So one day I noticed a coworker come out of the stall and leave without washing her hands. I avoided taking papers from her after that. Ewwww.

What are your thoughts on online dating?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 10, 2018:
I think it puts people into a consumer mentality, like it is a grocery store. The next one might be better than this one. Also all I've encountered lately has been scammers, so I've pretty much dropped out of all of them. It's just not worth the hassle.
Does it matter how a gift is wrapped or is it only the gift that matters?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 10, 2018:
I so rarely wrap anymore. I buy cheap gift bags, a bit of tissue paper, and let it go. The gift bags are reuseable too.

Should you live for today?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 10, 2018:
You should enjoy the moment you're in, and live like you will die tomorrow, but there are no guarantees. However, you should prepare for the future tomorrows by socking something away for retirement or a rainy day. Last week I'd have said I'm at peace if I go tomorrow, everyone knows how I feel about them, I am at peace with everyone. Well that didn't last long.

Dating: what's your ideal age range? How important is age?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 10, 2018:
I'd actually stretch it out to within 8 years of my own age, maybe further. The older you get the wider the window can be, I think. My kids have "suggested" a potential long term should be closer to my age than to the oldest child's age, so for them as long as he is within 13 years of my age they'll be cool.

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
I live near the geographical center of the USA, in the great plains. Where I live it is hilly, I am in Omaha, Nebraska, near the border with the Missouri River and Iowa is on the other side. We were settled by farmers and other immigrants. My great grandparents came from Germany, Switzerland, Scotland, and England. We have a world class zoo. We have the College World Series of Baseball (apparently that is important to some.) We displaced indigenous populations to build our farms and run our railroad tracks across the land. There used to be large herds of bison roaming the land, those went away with the railroads, and the indigenous population was mistreated and herded onto the poorest land available and left to essentially starve.
What do you prefer doing when you feeling sad and depressed?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
I usually just grit my teeth and know it will pass. Recently much of it has been job stress related, I'm hoping I've got a handle on that now. I use some herbs and try to get enough sleep. One of these days I'm going to be able to go outside and take walks and get some sunshine. If I am deficient in Vitamin D it affects me.

My skin was very oily and I'd break out ALL the damn time. Then I cleared up for a while, and then I got pregnant and my skin thought it was 13 again, each time. After kids I'd have occasional breakouts. Now past menopause OMG is my skin dry, but I rarely break out. I'm pretty sure if I had a better diet and better habits as a teen my skin would have been much better.

When will I stop thinking about him?
HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
When you start thinking about him, make yourself remember the crap he did. I had a long term relationship that broke my heart. 6 years later I still think of him from time to time. When it was good it was really really good, but I glossed over the crap. When I think of him now I think of the money he owes me, the promises he broke, the criticisms he had for me. the lies he told from the beginning. I have wisdom for the pain now. I want to find someone with his good qualities and without the crap. But focus on the crap and it will help you move forward.

Hello, I'm Paula. I'm a suburbanite in the cold frozen plains states. We heard a rumor that it was spring, and then we got snow again so we're figuring that was a lie. A damn lie! Any way when spring finally finds us I have two 4x4 raised beds and a deck with lots of pots. I love fresh tomatoes and experiment with other crops from time to time. I grew lots of basil last year and put up lots of pesto sauce. I work full time +, inside my house doesn't get much light, and have young cats. Not many plants indoors. I also have a compost bin and a worm box. It is about time to put in fresh bedding for the worms and dig the castings into the garden.
The female population so far have not responded to this group.

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
My experience is that it isn't the size it is how you use it. My second ex that I was with for over 25 years was well hung. Had no rhythm, no imagination, and inhibitions that Freud would have loved to explore. I used to think it was a horrible waste of potential. I've had far, far better experiences with men less well endowed.
Started a group called real intimacy.

I am just amazed they don't have some onboarding training for you. This is how we do it type of approach, and teamed you with a senior nurse for at least the first week. Is there a charge nurse you can go to with questions? Nothing like throwing you into the deep end from the start. And THANK YOU!! Nurses are over worked and underrated. Thank you for being an angel on earth. I read a couple of doctor blogs and they confirm that nurses are saints and if you want your facility to run well you have to support your nurses.

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 8, 2018:
When I was 19 and in the Army I married a fellow soldier. He was 28 and a Kentucky farmboy. It didn't take me long to realize I made a horrible mistake, especially once I met his family and saw where he lived. The level of what I saw as ignorance was amazing, and this was 41 years ago. The casualness of "keeping it within the family". To be open of something so damaging and taboo. To this day I cringe when I have dealings with people from Kentucky, and with my job that happens more often than I'd like. The marriage did not last and we never had kids. We had no reason to keep in contact. But even as young and stupid as I was, I knew so much of what he told me and he believed was utter and total BS. His plan was to get out of the Army and go home and raise hogs and tabacca. And now that I'm thinking of the few months we were together I feel an overwhelming need for a shower.

I like straightforwardness and honesty as I try to be. I'm a tad out of the ordinary and I am upfront about it. I'm not everyone's cup of tea and that is OK. It's not a one size fits all world. I like to know what other people value. I agree, I don't care about toys like motorcycles, cars, campers and stuff. As those things are not something I value it is not a good omen. I want a friend. I need to get along with someone fully clothed before I care to take my clothes off. I want my best buddy ever, once that is established, all else will follow naturally.

HippieChick58 comments on Apr 5, 2018:
Worst: long, long days at work. I fell horribly behind, still having software issues. And I slipped on the ice in the parking garage at work and have a nice bruise on my knee.
